You wouldn't. I have something like that running on my board. Shops, quests, grinding and what not. But it's an RP section like the ones we have here. Not a whole board.

It would make things a tad too mechanic. I'm not saying you shouldn't try it, but implementing actual counters would affect all members and not just the ones in that specific RP. What you could try is to do it in their siggies or in a topic like we do for inventories. It works the same way, it's just not as fancy.

It's not so much a bad idea as it is one that contradicts the format of forum role-playing, in a sense. One problem with such programs is that they're database hogs; everything'll slow down a ton if you try to use them. Max and I love to implement all kinds of systems, but we do so in ways that we can textually or mentally document, rather than utilizing laggy website features. Of course, there are exceptions, such as character currency and links to character info (of the respective characters of the main universe per account) being found within account profiles on my site, so there's proof that it's not a strictly faulty plan.

You could definitely accomplish the same thing with posts, and different threads and what not...It's just, someone will need to set it up.

But we do that in some RPs already, it's just kind of hard to take it that seriously cause players have different levels of commitment and some more casual RPers won't really bother to update or check their stuff. They just wanna go to the topic and post.
